 Today’s bulletin is donated in loving memory of Belle Elliott by 

 Randy & Kathy Elliott.

 

 A donation has been made to the Redevelopment Fund by Judy

 Hounsell & Rev. Myles Vardy in celebration of their marriage.

 

 A donation has been made to the M&S Fund in loving memory

 of sister, Margaret Powell by Edith.

 

 A donation has been made to the Cemetery Fund in loving

 memory of Fred & Bessie Hayward by Alfred & Eleanor 

 Manuel. 

 

 A donation has been made to the Redevelopment Fund in loving 

 memory of Eloise Stanford by Doris & Leslie Cross.

 

 The Session will meet today, Sunday, November 20 in the manse

 immediately following coffee hour.

 

 “An Ennis Road Christmas” concert will be held on Monday, 

 November 28 at 8 pm at First United Church.  Tickets are $20

 & available at the church office.

 

 Allison Crowe Concert will take place on Friday, December 2 at 

 8 pm at First United ChurchTickets are $20 & available at the

 church office.

 

 The UCW Christmas Bazaar will be held Dec 3, 2011 at 2:30 

 pm at St. John the Evangelist Church Hall on Main Street. 

 Donations of baked goods, preserves, knitted goods & small

 items for the white elephant table can be dropped off at the 

 church office.  All members of the congregation can contribute

 to the Bazaar as in other years.

 

 

 The Children’s Wish Foundation Corner Brook Sub-Chapter is 

 presenting their 3rd Annual Christmas Wishes Program on

 Sunday December 4, 2011 at 630 p.m. at the Salvation Army 

 Temple on O’Connell Drive.  There is no admission cost for this

 event however any monetary donations will be graciously

 accepted.

 

 The 2012 Church calendars are now available at the church

 office. Cost is $5 each.

 

 Western Memorial Hospital Foundation & Fillatre Funeral 

 Homes Ltd is again pleased to present the “Tree of Memories”, a

 symbolic gesture to remember loved ones we hold dear to our

 hearts, but who are no longer with us.  Please join us on Tuesday, 

 December 6th at 7 pm for the official tree lighting & carol sing at 

 Remembrance Square followed by a service at First United 

 Church, Park St at 7:30 pm.  At the conclusion of the service

 refreshments will be served in the church Lecture Hall, hosted by

 the WMRH Auxiliary.  Lights can be purchased at the Regional 

 Foundation Office by calling 637-5353 or at Fillatre’s Funeral

 Home on St. Marks Ave.

 

 Hearing Impaired Aids: We now have a hearing aid system in 

 place to be used during the worship services. If you have a need

 for this please check with the ushers as you enter the church.

 

 The Men’s Club will be having their monthly meeting on

 Thursday, November 24th starting at 6 pm.  This will be a roast 

 moose dinner.  All members will be contacted by the executive.

 

 We have received on a trial basis a paging system that can be used

 throughout the church.  It is currently being used in the nursery.  

 This will enable young parents to have their children entertained

 in the nursery while they enjoy worship.  If you are interested in

 taking advantage of this system please speak with Rev. Vardy.

 

The Official Board will meet in the Lecture Hall on Tuesday

 November 29 at 7:30 pm.

 

 This is a scent free building. Please be sensitive to those around

 you & refrain from wearing scents.

 

 The Senior Choir will be presenting a Christmas Cantata -

 “Ceremony of Candles” on Sunday, December 18 at 11 am.

 

 Christmas Carolling - Once again this year we will be carolling

 to shut ins.  This will take place on Monday, December 19. We

 will car pool & leave the church parking lot at 6:30 pm.  Come

 along & have a fun night ending with a hot bowl of chili & hot

 chocolate.

 

 Deadline for Christmas Memorials is Monday, December 19

 Please have your requests called to the church office by that 

 date in order to have them printed in the Christmas bulletin.

 
 The Bay of Islands Musical Arts Chorus will present Christmas 

 concert, “O Magnum Mysterium” at 8 PM on Sunday,

 December 11 with Jennifer Matthews- conductor and Jennifer

 Stratton-Renouf pianist. Special guests, CBRH Chamber choir, 

 Darren Hancock and Rev. Fran Ota.

 

 An Ecumenical Service for the first Sunday in Advent will be

 held Sunday, November 27 starting at 7:30 pm.  This will be

 held at St. John the Evangelist Church.

 

 The UCW will be filling Christmas stockings for the residents 

 of the Bungalows.  There are 30 female residents & 10 male.  

 If  anyone would like to contribute items, they can be dropped

 off at the church office or given to members of the Executive 

 before Dec. 12.


Humber United Church is holding their Annual Hymn Sing

 Nov. 20 @ 7:00pm. Please come and share with us in this

 evening of community, praise & song.

 

 The Corner Brook Community Choir will present their annual 

 Christmas concert “A Christmas Celebration” on Monday,

 November 28 at 8 pm at All Saints Anglican Church,

 44 Clarence St. Tickets are just $10 and are available from 

 choir members or at the door.
 

 The Accordion Group will meet on Wednesday nights at

 PM. New members are welcome. Contact Wince Wiltshire at 

 634-6508 or Calvin Pretty at 639-9659.
